It might only have been a couple of weeks since we enjoyed the Easter weekend, but the spring bank holiday is here already. Here are some fun things to do in Sale over the long weekend:
Watch Kinky Boots on stage
Until Saturday 30th, Sale Nomads are performing their production of the fun-filled musical ‘Kinky Boots’ at Waterside. But be quick – tickets are selling fast! 🎟
Float session at Sale Leisure Centre
Enjoy a fun-filled float session with the kids this bank holiday Monday (2nd May). An hour of laughs and giggles in the pool, including inflatables and floats.

Take a wander down the canal
Always a staple activity for a bank holiday in Sale! If you’re out for a stroll this weekend, stop by Walton Perk for a takeaway coffee and a piece of cake. Usually closed on Mondays, they are opening this bank holiday from 10am-2pm as a one-off special occasion – so make it worth their while getting on board!
If you haven’t tried Walton Perk yet, it’s one of the friendliest coffee shops in Sale. Although technically, this one is on a boat! ☕️
Live music at The Block & Gasket
Love live music? Head down to the Block & Gasket this bank holiday weekend to see Manchester alternative rock band Ideal Forgery on Friday (29th April) from 8.30pm and DJs Ash and Kieron bring you a night of dance and house classics from 9pm on Saturday (30th April).
The Block usually gets pretty busy at the weekend, so if you fancy either of these, book a table to be on the safe side. 🎸
Visit Walkden Gardens
Walkden Gardens, one of the best green spaces in Sale, is looking particularly good at the moment. The winding paths of the Japanese gardens show off the acers beautifully. If you’ve had a hectic week, a walk around Walkden Gardens will leave you more relaxed and calm. Trust us on this one. 🌳
Heading into Sale town centre this weekend? Why not eat at one of the best restaurants in town, or catch-up with friends at one of the best independent bars? 🍻
